This week marked the anniversary of the back-to-back January storms that devastated Midcoast waterfronts. Some businesses and fishermen recovered quickly, or "bounced forward," as one source put it. Others are still trying to pick up the pieces. We've brought you a several stories about the aftermath and recovery, most recently this one about a Midcoast landmark that rebuilt in a way that should better survive future storms.
In older news, I'm always amazed at the stories our history columnist Lori-Suzanne Dell digs up. Her lates entry, published Friday, is about a 1903 brawl in the streets of Brunswick between Bowdoin College students and local "Rowdies" that brought an end to an old Bowdoin initiation tradition that sounds like it was probably a lot of fun. This reads like something from "The Outsiders."
