April 25,2024

The snow's had its moments, don't get me wrong. It's so gorgeous when you peek out the window and it's freshly fallen, untrodden. But now the snow mountains pushed against the curbs by the plows have gotten a little grimy. We've lost an hour of sleep to win ourselves more evening light. And blooms are bursting through the mud where the ice has melted, trying to make themselves known. I'm ready for longer days to take in those spring flowers. I'm ready to start shedding layers.

This Postcard's still pretty wintry - with its sledding and snowshoes and storms. But we're all looking forward, like my neighbor's dog in the photo, to seeing what comes around the corner next.

For some of you who don't live here, you're probably starting to make plans to get here soon. I know I'm looking forward to seeing my little cabin up the coast, once we get through mud season and I can make it down the dirt road.

Next time you hear from me, it will be spring. We'll celebrate together.

Write back to say hello if you like. Always happy to hear how you are.

Thanks for reading, as ever.
