The Democratic National Convention culminated Thursday night with a much anticipated speech by Vice President Kamala Harris, who pretty much had to call the arena to order to get the energized Democrats to let her speak and formally accept the nomination.

The four-day-long nationally televised rally featured a personal address by President Joe Biden, fiery speeches by Former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michele Obama and a pep talk by the Democrats' vice presidential nominee, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.

Gov. Janet Mills led Maine’s delegation to the convention. She also participated in a panel discussion with her fellow female governors and “Veep” star Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

While Democrats inside the arena were energized and unified behind Harris, there were protests outside demanding an end to the war in Gaza. Harris addressed the situation in her speech, calling for an end to the violence.

And, while their convention is sure to extend the momentum for Democrats, the campaigns have a long way to go.
