Dan Giguere is quite the character.
He decided to build a sugarhouse that resembles a full-size train locomotive in Auburn to keep the history of his property intact. The Rock Maple Mountain Railroad crossed Giguere's property on Davis Mountain in the 1950s and '60s to bring visitors to a former sugarhouse further up the mountain. |
When Giguere decided to build a new sugarhouse closer to the road, he built it to resemble a locomotive.
Giguere said that he has people from all over the country come to visit his sugarhouse on Maine Maple Sunday Weekend because it is so unique.
