Maine Restaurant Week kicks off on Saturday. For a dozen delicious days, restaurants across the state will be serving up special menus. Bon appetit!

The Maine Jewish Film Festival also starts on Saturday, and runs through March 9 at venues in Portland, Waterville, Lewiston and Brunswick. Our film columnist Dennis Perkins has details.
We also have many other Saturday happenings: Head to Riverbank Park in Westbrook for Winterfest, and then to Fort Williams Park in Cape Elizabeth for a fireworks show.

Ukrainian singer-songwriter Maryna Krut takes the stage at First Parish Church in Portland on Thursday. Her vocals are gorgeous, and you’ll be entranced by her playing of a unique stringed instrument called a bandura. |

Maine Maritime Museum plays host to the exhibit “Upon That Isle in Maine,” featuring art and installations centered around four maritime-themed books from children’s author and illustrator Chris Van Dusen. See it through March 29, 2026. |
